Coastguard Safety Form

In an effort to enhance safety at sea, the UAE Coastguard and Police have given all UAE Marina operators strict instructions regarding boating on Gulf Waters.

Should any vessel depart from Dubai Marina the “Sailing Permit for Vessels in UAE Territorial Waters” must be filled out by the skipper of each boat and handed to Dubai Marina staff for authorization. Our staff will count the number of crew aboard, verify some particulars and then fax it to the Coastguard for their approval. The coast guard guarantees approvals in a very short time unless the form was not filled out properly. Skippers must wait for the form to be returned to them with the coast guard stamp of approval visible on the form.

It is critical that all the information required on the form is filled out, in particular:

  • Exact date and time or departure, date and time of return
  • DP number, name of both boat owner and the skipper.
  • A list naming EACH passenger is also required on a separate piece of paper, alonf with a copy of the registration document

The Coastguard now checks all boats now leaving the marina. They will expect that the approved form be produced. Upon returning to the marina, please pass on the form to our staff that will count the number of crew aboard and duly file the forms for collection by the coast guard.

We encourage our customers to make all effort to comply with this ruling or face stiff penalties, including boat confiscation, imprisonment and fines.

Dubai Marina - Late Working Hours

As you are aware, our working hours are from 0800 to 2400 daily. You will see the happy faces of either marina security Domingo or Nishan late at night. They are available to assist in your departure or return from the marina, they are also available to take you to or back from your swing mooring, however they will tow any boats into the marina for safety reasons. Please call the security marina staff from 1800 daily on 050 644 1436. Please give them warning of your arrival.

Midnight to 8:00am Boat Movements

You are not permitted to leave or return to Dubai Marina between midnight and 8am under normal circumstances. We have no staff to check the number of people aboard or collect your coastguard form and register your arrival. Coastguard Patrol boats will be issuing on the spot fines for those re-berthing without Dubai Marina staff being present. Dubai Marina staff may be available to assist with a departure or arrival between 2400 and 0800, however a charge of 300AED applies, payable in advance.
